About the Role
• BHR Code is seeking a talented and detail-oriented WordPress Developer to join our growing tech team at the client site. The ideal candidate will be responsible for building and maintaining WordPress websites, customizing WooCommerce for our e-commerce operations, and ensuring an optimized and secure experience across devices.
• This role is critical to supporting our digital presence and building seamless experiences for our community of women navigating perimenopause and menopause.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop, maintain, and optimize responsive WordPress websites (Elementor/Custom themes).
• Customize WooCommerce for online store functionality, including product setup, checkout flows, and payment gateway integration.
• Implement plugins, troubleshoot compatibility issues, and ensure performance and security standards.
• Collaborate with design and content teams to translate UI/UX designs into functional websites.
• Create custom post types, taxonomies, shortcodes, and hooks as needed.
• Manage database updates, backups, and site migrations.
• Monitor site speed, SEO readiness, and analytics (Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, etc.).
• Debug and resolve performance issues, plugin conflicts, and WordPress errors.
• Assist in API integrations with CRM, WhatsApp, Interakt, and other tools.
• Maintain documentation for all custom development and configurations.
Requirements
• 2+ years of hands-on experience with WordPress & WooCommerce development.
• Strong knowledge of PHP, MySQL, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/jQuery.
• Experience working with page builders like Elementor, WPBakery, or Gutenberg.
• Deep understanding of WordPress architecture, hooks, filters, and plugin development.
• Familiarity with WooCommerce customization, checkout optimization, and order workflows.
• Experience with version control (Git), staging environments, and deployment best practices.
• Basic knowledge of SEO best practices and analytics tools.
• Experience with REST APIs and 3rd party plugin integrations.
• Familiarity with security practices (firewalls, anti-spam, captcha, etc.).
Bonus Points
• Experience in performance optimization (caching, lazy loading, CDN setup).
• Understanding of membership or subscription plugins.
• Knowledge of Interakt, Msg91, or WhatsApp-based integrations.
• Experience working in a healthtech or femtech start-up environment.
• Contributions to WordPress plugins or open-source projects.
