Advanced AIX Administrator / AIX 7.2 System Administrator

Job Summary

BHR Code is hiring an experienced AIX 7.2 Administrator / AIX System Administrator for a leading technology organisation. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in IBM AIX Operating System Administration, Power Systems, LPAR Management, AIX Patch Management, System Hardening, and High Availability solutions.
This role is ideal for professionals with hands-on experience managing enterprise-scale IBM Power Systems environments, ensuring system availability, performance optimisation, security compliance, and infrastructure stability.
The selected candidate will work on critical infrastructure operations, troubleshooting complex AIX environments, capacity planning, automation initiatives, and production support activities.

Key Responsibilities
Perform end-to-end administration and support of IBM AIX 7.2 operating systems across enterprise environments.
Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot AIX servers and Power Systems infrastructure.
Manage AIX Technology Level (TL), Service Pack (SP), and patch upgrades.
Perform system health checks, performance monitoring, and issue resolution.
Manage LPAR (Logical Partition) creation, configuration, and capacity management.
Handle CPU, memory, storage, and resource allocation activities.
Perform AIX security hardening activities aligned with enterprise security standards.
Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot PowerHA high availability environments.
Support incident management, problem resolution, and root cause analysis.
Perform system migrations, upgrades, and operational improvements.
Collaborate with application, database, storage, and network teams for infrastructure support.
Create and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
Participate in automation initiatives using scripting and configuration management tools.

Required Skills & Qualifications
Mandatory Skills:
7–12+ years of experience in IBM AIX Administration.
Strong hands-on experience with AIX 7.2 Administration.
Expertise in: AIX Operating System Administration
AIX Patch Management
Technology Level (TL) and Service Pack (SP) Management
LPAR Administration
Capacity Planning and Performance Management
System Security Hardening
PowerHA Configuration and Administration
Strong troubleshooting skills in enterprise production environments.
Experience managing large-scale UNIX/Linux infrastructure environments.
Good understanding of IBM Power Systems architecture.

Good To Have Skills
Experience with Ansible Automation.
Strong scripting knowledge using: Shell Scripting
KSH/Bash scripting
Experience in infrastructure automation and operational efficiency improvements.
Knowledge of monitoring and enterprise management tools.
Exposure to ITIL-based service management processes.
